I was seven when I first discovered my father's record collection. His classics like "Remain In Light" by the Talking Heads were in constant rotation back then. Ever since, I’ve had this never-ending hunger to know as much as possible about music culture and all the different eras, genres and artists. I begin every day listening to an album to set the mood for what’s to come.
Since I was that little boy rummaging through my father’s vinyl, I’ve known my destiny was to produce music and share it with the world. I’ve been fortunate to travel the globe pursuing this dream.
As an electronic music producer I’ve toured in Europe, China, Russia, North and South America (several times). I’ve performed in many incredible cities, including New York, Miami, Toronto, Honolulu, Dubai and Tel Aviv. I travelled non-stop for five years and have many cherished memories and experiences to take with me in the next chapter of my career in music.
My musical path has steered me toward film. As an outsider, my start was from the very bottom, but I’m extremely grateful to a friend who set me up with my first interview with a production company. After all my travels, five-star hotels and breakfast buffets, my new job was to make coffee as a runner on film sets.
Always eager for new opportunities, another soon presented itself while working as a production assistant on set for a Lenovo commercial. I became incredibly inspired by it’s creators, especially the stop-motion artist, Károly Papp, who was also an animator for the Oscar-winning “Peter and the Wolf.
Energized by their creativity, I took my laptop into the lunchroom and wrote a soundtrack for the commercial. Immediately after lunch I presented the piece to the director and he was so impressed, they decided to use it for the commercial. To sweeten the story, I won an award for the composition and yet another door opened.
Soon after I earned a promotion to production manager and for a few years I managed to do my best in both fields. However, there came a point where I had to choose a specific direction to reach my true potential. Despite earning invaluable experience as a production manager, the decision wasn’t a difficult one.
More than thirty projects later, recording in Hungarian Radio’s famous Studio 22 is definitely the highlight of my career. Working with the same orchestra that recorded the soundtrack for Parasite—the Academy Award winner for Best Picture—is an experience I’ll never forget.
I am also back on stage as part of the cinematic live act, Changing Grey. We’re currently putting the finishing touches on our first album. Stay tuned for its release in late 2020.
